Bean to Cup
Coffee beans are grown throughout Central America, but surprisingly instant coffee has become a staple in most Belizean homes. We have partnered with our friends at Blue Bottle Coffee to help change this coffee culture. With a rigorous staff training program, the very best roasting and brewing equipment, and top quality organic beans sourced from family-run Finca Hermosa, we are proud to serve delicious, freshly roasted coffee, brewed onsite. We are also working with coffee sourcing experts Ninety Plus Coffee and 2nd generation growers Finca Hartmann from Panama to find low altitude coffee varietials and locations on our farm where they will thrive.
Bean to Cup Workshop
Start your morning with a walk to the farm to tour our coffee plants. Our resident coffee expert will take you through the process of a raw bean to a roasted bean and how to get different strengths and flavour profiles throughout the roasting process. Finish off the experience by tasting the beans that you have roasted and the various coffee methods we use at Belcampo Lodge. As a souvenier, you will take home a pound of the coffee that you roasted. Available by request 9:00am-11:00am. Cost is $45US per person.
Join us at our coffee bar for an in-depth coffee tasting, or "cupping". The main aim in cupping is to evaluate the coffee objectively and to create a flavour profile based on an established terminology. The basic attributes evaluated are: aroma, flavour, body and acidity. Your cupping journey will be led by our resident coffee expert. Available by request. Cost is $35US per person.
